Income Protection
Income protection plans provide a regular long-term tax-free income if you are are unable to work due to illness or accidental injury.
Benefits are limited to a proportion of earnings to reflect their tax-free status. A married person with no children earning 32,000 gross p.a. unable to work due to illness or disability may claim LT Incapacity Benefit of 4,230 p.a. (2007/08 tax year). Under an Income Protection Plan they could receive up to 20,000 p.a.
Accident, Sickness and Unemployment Cover
Accident, sickness and unemployment insurance typically provides benefit for a limited period.
Home Insurance

Buildings insurance protects you against damage to the structure of your home together with its fixtures and fittings.
Contents insurance protects you against damage or loss of the possessions that you would normally take with you if you moved.
